The Beach!!! July 2011

We were SOOOOO excited to go to the beach this year with my mom(Grandmama), my sister, brother-in-law and their two boys!  We had an excellent time and hope that it is the first of many family vacations to the beach.....Perdido Key, Florida/ July 9th to 16th 2011

The vacation started with my sister calling me at 5 pm her time and yelling through the phone "Woo Hoo!  I'm on vacation!"  You see, as soon as she got off work, she, my brother-in-law, my two nephews and my mom headed down to our house.  My mom, sister and me spent most of the night fixing food....mom's famous chicken salad and pimento cheese, and me and Pamela cut up some fruit and veggies.  Bryan and Rob spent alot of time laughing at how much food we had sitting out in the middle of the floor for the trip.  But I must say that I think ALL of the food was eaten up!  The boys camped out  on the floor on the air mattress...it took a while for us all to fall asleep...we were just so excited!  It reminded me of trips when I was a kid....I would always get so excited, not sleep, then sleep all the way down.  I worked myself up over 1 day trips like to Kings Island like that too.....Anyway, we left at around 7:30am the next morning after I nursed Hannah.

First of all, I have to say that Hannah was a super trooper when it came to riding 11 hours in a car with only 3 stops!  11 hours because for two of those stops I nursed Hannah and one of the stops was for everyone to eat lunch.  Hannah only got fussy the last 1 1/2 to 2 hours of the ride.  She talked and we sang during her normal waking hours, she napped pretty much on schedule and then the portable DVD player was a help those last two hours getting there and getting home.  Here is the trip in pictures......

11 Months!

Hannah turned 11 months old on July 4th!  Wow!  Even more Wow is that she just turned a year old on August 4th!  Since I'm way behind on posts, this one is just a couple of sweet pictures....

July 4th!

July 4th is a special day in my family not just because we celebrate our nation's independence and all those who have sacrificed to provide it, but also because we celebrate my dad's birthday!!!!  And this year was a special year because he turned 65!

It was the weekend after we moved, Papaw and Nanny Pinkston arrived Friday night.  We had a great weekend of visiting.  Nanny brought me some herbs as a house warming gift.  And Papaw opened his birthday present from us which was a new fishing pole.  We ate, visited and ate some more!  Couldn't have been any better....until....Papaw took his first trip to Lake Malone which is 20 minutes down the road and caught BIG BERTHA!

Way to go Papaw!  BIG BERTHA BIRTHDAY BASS!!!  Hannah was more excited about how excited Papaw was I think.  And for good reason...7 pounder!  Nanny wrote and article about it, that maybe I'll post at a later date...if I can figure out how to do that...That's our pond behind us in which Papaw put the bass in.  Unfortunately, the bass didn't survive, but the memory certainly will!

Getting Settled...

So, Hannah and I left the lake on Wednesday evening arriving at our new home in Russellville around 7:30pm.  My mom met us there...she took off work Thursday and Friday to be with Hannah while I scurried to get all of the unpacking done....THANK YOU MOM!

First Trip To The Lake...June...

Hannah and I went to the Lake with Grandma and Papaw Keene while Bryan stayed at home to be there when the movers came to pack us up.  Hannah and I were actually there when the big truck came...and oh how I wish I had a picture or video of that huge semi-truck trying to back into our driveway.  They didn't make it and they ended up having to pack every box down the driveway to the road...crazy!  I'm glad Hannah and I left for the lake shortly after they arrived!  Anyway, this blog is about the lake.  Hannah LOVED the lake and the boat.  She wanted in the water so bad but totally freaked out when I tried to put her life jacket on.  She didn't quite possess the reasoning skills that if she put the jacket on, she could get in.  She loved riding the boat though, and we did get her in at the shore line with papaw where we were camping....

June...Better Late Than Never...

So, it's been over two months now since I blogged....my how time goes by.  There is good reason why it's been so long since I blogged though...Our computer crashed and we were without Internet for 6-7 weeks.   Oh yeah, we also moved, sold our house in Franklin, went to the lake, went on vacation and planned for and had a wonderful first birthday party for miss Hannah.  Oh yeah, and we've had lots of family and friends visit since we moved which has been awesome!  So with all that fun, who has time to blog about it?  Well, Bryan offered to take Hannah for a few hours today while I run some errands and catch up on some blogs.  I think Bryan was quite excited.  He was gone to Michigan last week for work, so he was ready for some Hannah/daddy time too.  So, for my own scrap booking benefit, I'm going back a couple of months and am going to start with pictures of June....hopefully it will also keep the two or three of you that read this blog up to date.

Teething...but still smiling!  Oh, I think this was taken when my washing machine was broken and we had to go to Grandma's to do laundry...ALL DAY...WITH NO NAP....WHEW!  Yeah, the week before we moved we had a computer crash, our washing machine break, something with our sink faucet break and something else that I can't remember...I think I blocked it out...crazy last week!
