We also had a fun night with the Burnhams and Hannah loved her new friend Hunter, but I didn't get any pics...I'm so bummed.  Oh well, next time.....

6 Month Checkup

So, Hannah is going to be 7 months old next Saturday, but her 6 month check-up was today.  Weighing in at 13 pounds and 4.6 ounces and 26 inches long, the doc says she's right where she needs to be.  She's not a very big baby, but she is growing right along her growth chart as she should.  She has almost doubled her birth weight and she has grown 7 total inches!  She is in 43% for height and 3% for weight.  The nurse kept saying "what a happy baby you have!" and Hannah even reached out for the nurse to hold her which is a pretty big deal since she is pretty much attached to mama most of the time.  She had a HUGE poopy right before we went which is probably why she was so happy....she had to feel good getting all of that out! 

Things she is doing....

1.  Sitting up by herself while using both hands to play (usually for about an hour with me right there, because she will topple over on occasion).

2.  Rolling from front to back...still not from back to front, but I don't know that she ever will...she does NOT like being on her tummy.  It's so cute...I'll put her on her tummy and she rolls over really quick and smiles at me waiting for the applause since that's what we started doing when she first started rolling a couple of months ago.  I try to practice rolling from back to front with the same applause, but she's just not into it yet.

3.  She is picking up objects with both hands separately and together and passing items from hand to hand.

4.  She loves butternut squash, sweet potatoes, carrots and prunes.  She will eat avocado, but I don't get the same "mmm" as I do with the others.

5.  She is sleeping through the night from 8 pm to 6 or 6:30am.

6.  I am still nursing, which I plan to do until she is a year old.

7.  She loves to be sung to...some of her favorites are "Jesus Loves Me", "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands", "Jesus Loves The Little Children", "Sing Your Praise To The Lord", "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus", "There's Just Something About That Name" and "Hey Good Lookin'".

8.  She likes to be held upright where she can see everything...and she doesn't miss anything.

9.  She loves playing with the ball popper, blocks, and anything that has music or makes noise.

10.  She's a homebody.  She loves being at home with all of her things.  Anytime we go out of town, when we get home and take the blanket off of the car seat and she sees where she is, she just starts cooing.

11.  She naps well in her bed and in the car.  She likes to be held for a few minutes, a song and a few kisses and then she likes to be layed down in her bed.  As soon as I lay her in the bed, she pulls her left hand up by the side of her face, looks at me, then closes her eyes.  She also likes to sleep completely sprawled out with no cover.  It just kills me...I sneak in her room to put a blanket over after she is good and asleep and it's like she has a radar or something.  While her eyes are closed and still sleeping, she pulls her feet up to kick it off before I even get out of the room.

12.  She absolutely LOVES animal noises!

Well, I guess I could go on and on and on.  What a wonderful 61/2 months it has been.  It has gone by so fast.  I remember sitting in the doctor's office at her two week appointment seeing other 6 month old babies and it seemed so far away for Hannah.  God is so good all the time, but Hannah is definitely the most precious gift that he has blessed Bryan and I with.  I'm so glad I get to be her mommy....

Mommy's Big Helper

Hannah likes to help me drink my water.  No matter what she's doing, if she sees me pick up my glass, she puts up her hand as if to say "Here mommy, let me help.  I know you can't do it without me".  So cute...

Grandma and Cousins

Hannah hasn't had the opportunity to see her cousins Riann and Jesse or grandma in a while, so they met me and my mom for a visit at the mall Saturday morning....

Valentine's Day

Byran and I celebrated Valentine's Day this past weekend while grandmama babysat Hannah.  It was our first date night out since Hannah was born....

Hannah gave Bryan his card before we left.  It has smiley faces on it and she told me to write "I love it when you make me smile"on the inside.  Her little sleeper also says "daddy's sweetie".

We went to Oasis in Franklin to eat (didn't want to get too far).

A Spring Day in February

Ahh...Spring is on its way.  68 degrees in Franklin, KY yesterday. 

Hannah and I celebrated by playing with the ball popper OUTSIDE!!!!

Hannah absolutely loves being outside.  We started out just walking around our yard, talking to the Hoss and Daisy(our two dogs), talking to the cows and talking to Jack(the neighbors donkey).  Then we ended our outside adventure on the front porch.

Hannah reunited with her old buddy octopus man.  She loved him from 2-3 months and then all of a sudden decided she  would cry every time she saw him.  But, as you can see, she has given him a good talkin' to and evidently they have made up.

This and That

Note to self:  Start next baby on 1 tablespoon of new food only when starting on pureed baby food.  So, I got super excited when Hannah started gobbling up the carrots like a champ.  She kept opening her little mouth like a little bird...and it is so much fun to feed a baby that likes to eat!  However, too much food too soon=major constipation.  That's been our week in a nutshell...constipation.  She's doing a little better now since I started her on infant acidophilis, and we're off to sweet potatoes.  She still hasn't had a major blowout yet though, so I'm thinking about a little prune juice added to the "so thin you could drink it through a bottle" sweet potatoes.  Other suggestions are welcome from all you experienced moms. 

Bryan and I have also started a home project...we are putting in hardwood floors in the living room and hallway into the bedrooms and tile in the kitchen....I'm super excited!  Bryan's actually doing the work.  Hannah and I are supervising.  Here are just a few pics from the week...

I really wanted to get a picture of Hannah outside with the pretty snow in the background, but it was -2 degrees on the day that I thought about it, so we took an inside pic with our hello kitty winter hat and snowman on.

The snow was already melting(I don't know why I didn't think about getting a pic of the freshly fallen snow), but the sunset behind our house was just breathtaking.

Oh, and just a side note...it's 53 degrees outside today!  Spring is on its way!  I think we'll spend some time outside today...maybe a trip to the park.  Happy Monday everyone!

Happy 6 months!

Happy 6 months to Hannah today!  Well, we have celebrated by taking fun pictures with Hannah's sticker onsie, playing and trying out our very first people food...carrots!  I was super excited to get to try out my new beaba baby food maker that I got for Christmas.  I then made a special treat for Bryan and I to snack on later....Banana chocolate chip muffins!  That doesn't seem right does it?  Hannah gets mushed up carrots and we get Banana muffins....But we deserve a treat too....we made it 6 months!  What a precious blessed, wonderful, full of adventure 6 months it has been.  I am so thankful to God for our precious gift....

Mommy put way too much in the bowl....

Her very first taste of food on her 6 month birthday.  Where have the past 6 months gone?  It just doesn't seem right that she is already a half a year old.  My prayer for Hannah...that she may "obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus" 2 Timothy 2:10 and that she would have a desire for God's Word knowing that it is "more precious than gold; even much  pure gold; and sweeter than honey and drippings from the honeycomb." Psalm 19:10.  I love you baby girl!
