November...

What we were up to in November...

 I've been horrible about getting any pictures of our tot school activities.  Our first unit was on creation, as you can see.  Our second unit was on "God created people".  Our third unit was on the birth of Jesus.  And now we are starting "The Lord is my Shepherd".  We've also been doing a letter a week with at least one activity and number recognition as we can fit it in.  The curriculum that I get most of my info from is called abcjesuslovesme, and I have really enjoyed using it.  I also go to 1+1+1=1 alot, confessionsofahomeschoolingmom and notimeforflashcards.

Derrick was almost 7 months old. 

I know that I have more pictures of Thanksgiving, but they must be on my phone.  Surely I got a picture of Derrick and Hannah together in their matching turkey outfits....I'm hoping!

Derrick turns 6 months old!

 At six months old, Derrick weighed in at 16 pounds and 5.5 ounces and was 27 7/8 inches long.  In comparison, Hannah was just a little over 17 pounds at a year old! Just a few things about Derrick at 6 months... 

He's wearing 9 to 12 month clothes at this point, leaning more toward the 12 month. 

My little man started sitting up on his own the week before he turned 6 months old.

He LOVES his big sis!

He is really starting to get his own personality and shows it with his sweet smile.

He likes to play peek a boo where he looks at you and smiles when he's laying on his belly, then he puts his face into the floor really quickly.

He's still pretty laid back, in comparison to his big sis.

He's wearing number 2 diapers still.

two naps a day...9 and 1:30 ranging from 1 1/2 hours to two hours.

Nursing 4-5 times a day.

Sleeping through the night from 8 pm after nursing to 6:30 or 7:00.

Picking up objects with both hands passing back and forth.

Still bringing much joy to our lives!

JACKSON'S ORCHARD

We always try to plan something fun for the kiddos, and us, on the days we have appointments in Bowling Green.  We had an eye Dr. appointment on this day in October, so we got up and left the house in the morning during Derrick's nap time to enjoy some fall fun before the appointment.

So, I am super bummed that I didn't get more pictures of this weekend, but we barely had time to breathe.  It was an eventful weekend to say the least, and we had a blast!  Bryan's childhood friend, Jason Osbourne, was getting married and Bryan was honored to be the best man and I was honored to provide all of the music for the wedding.  We decided to make the weekend a visit family weekend so we headed up on Wednesday evening to the Keene farm house.  The weekend was packed with family fun to say the least.  On Thursday, we spent the day with Bryan's Carney family.  On Friday, we went to Cardwell and spent time with my side of the family and then attended the wedding rehearsal.  On Saturday, we spent most of the day preparing for and then attending the wedding.  Then on Sunday, our good friend, Abe, preached at my dad's church and then we all went back to my dad's house for a birthday party for my grandmother who turned 92.  Whew!  What a fun weekend!

These were the best two pictures we got.  We waited until after we got home to take pictures and everyone was way past ready for bed.  We ended up going to a church Harvest festival that our friends, Becky and Jared invited us to, and we had a great time.  They had Chili and about 10 other types of soup, hot dogs, hamburgers and some deserts.  Hannah really enjoyed the hay ride and the games they had set up for the kiddos to play.  Derrick just enjoyed looking at the big bon fire they had going.  We had a really good time!
